About My Bespoke Corset Process
Every Starkers corset is entirely custom-made — from the initial pattern to final stitch — right here in the Starkers Studio in Toronto, Canada. Crafted by hand using only the finest materials, including English coutil and German steel boning, each corset is designed for both beauty and longevity, with techniques refined over 30+ years of corsetry experience.
A Collaborative Bespoke Process
When you commission a Starkers corset, you work directly with me to bring your vision to life. From selecting fabrics and trims to discussing silhouette and detail, we collaborate every step of the way. Your imagination sets the tone
Precision Fit, Tailored to You
Whether in person or remotely, I’ll guide you through a thorough measurement process — anywhere from 15 to 35 precise measurements, depending on the style and your symmetry. If you’re not local, I provide detailed instructions and personally verify all measurements for accuracy.
Using your measurements, I draft a completely custom pattern from scratch — never resizing pre-made templates. Because every body is unique, a bespoke pattern is the only way to achieve the sculpted, supportive fit Starkers is known for.
Materials & Construction
Your corset is built with structure and comfort in mind:
- An inner foundation of English coutil to maintain shape
- A reinforced German steel busk, underbusk flap, and double-layer grommet support
- A soft cotton lining for breathable wear
- Satin ribbon lacing and sturdy twill waist tape for durability
Every stitch is placed with purpose — the result is a corset that moves with you, fits like a second skin, and is made to last.
Your Signature, Inside
Each bespoke corset now includes a custom monogrammed modesty panel — a hidden personal touch just for you. Add initials, a meaningful date, or a signature phrase to make your corset truly yours.
Fittings & Turnaround
If you’re in Toronto, you’ll have at least one in-person fitting to perfect the look and fit. For clients across Canada, the U.S., or Europe, I mail you a mock-up (toile) and swatch set for remote fittings. Unlimited alterations and fittings are included with your purchase to ensure a flawless result.
