FAT 2013 wrap-up

[date-stamp]

My favorite annual event is Toronto’s Arts & Fashion Week, “FAT”. This was Starkers 7th year on the runway at FAT, and it was a blast as always. This year, our line theme was “Ballerina Biker”,  which was a blending of black leather, pink ballet satin, tutus, bolero biker jackets and pointe shoes! It all come together beautifully with the help of or amazing choreographer Alayna Kellett.

All of our models were professional dancers and ballerinas, and each danced beautifully and fluidly in their corsets, dancing shoes and pointes. Everyone knows, I love the enormous skirts. The bigger and poufier, the better. Our annual hoop cage skirt made an undercover appearance under our finale piece with our jewellery box ballerina in a ruched halter top, ruched corset and layered pink & black with black taffeta overskirt that billowed and swayed down the runway.

The studio is now put back together and I think my love of gigantic skirts has now officially maxed out the space in the racks. I have posted some items from the show to our Sample Sale Page

Looking forward to a chance of scenery next week, and it’s full steam ahead on Bridal Season!
