FashionArtToronto 2015

BlackWeddingDressStarkersWe have just come down from our 9th year at the amazing FashionArtToronto event. We presented our 2015 Bridal / Formal line.

Our line this year focuses on elements of fashion from the Edwardian era, when fashion first became fashionable in Toronto, which was growing fast as a cosmopolitan city. Clothing was manufactured in Toronto factories, and created by personal dressmakers and tailors. Attention to shape, detail and embellishments were featured in women’s clothing, in this time post-Victorian era fashion, before the shorter hemlines and looser shapes of the Roaring 20’s.  This line pays homage to the time of locally created, Canadian made fashion.

This was FashionArtToronto‘s 10th anniversary, with their theme #MADEINCANADA celebrating Canadian fashion and art. |FAT| creator Vanja Vasic has grown this event from a small, but mighty gathering of 10 designers and a hand full of artists, to a week long extravaganza of several dozen clothing designers, artists, photographers and performances. We are so proud to be part of this growing event every year, and to be a part of Toronto fashion for over two decades.
