Dianna DiNoble

Toronto-based Starkers! Corsetry has gained a devoted following, both locally and internationally, due to corsetiere Dianna DiNoble's meticulous attention to detail and modern take on historical designs. Established in 1991, Starkers! caters to a wide range of customers, from traditional brides to fashion trailblazers to risqué fetish lovers.

"I may create themes for shows, but not traditional seasonal lines. Rather, I focus on each couture piece and the client as a whole. I don't want to see my clients squeeze into a garment and a style to suit the current fashion. There are no dress sizes here, and no two pieces are exactly the same. The focus at Starkers is creating a piece, from the pattern to the finishings, that fits the client's unique body and style, whether it's for every day or for an event."

After studying fashion design at Sheridan College, Dianna worked with couturiers, perfecting the techniques she now employs to build the exceptional structure of her timeless corsets. Each corset is entirely custom fit to the client, has several layers of sculpted fabric and a minimum of 29 steel bones. 15 measurements are taken to ensure a comfortable fit, while it shapes the figure and can reduce the waist several inches! Inspired by historical designs and a love for darker fashion, Dianna established the Starkers! label in 1992. Initially selling her distinctive designs to local boutiques, her haute couture business now boasts a devoted worldwide following. Dianna also designs custom pieces for charity event auctions and has taught corsetry at Toronto's Ryerson University. Her creations are owned by a wide variety of renowned personalities, including singer Katy Perry , actor Melanie Laurent, Jennifer Carpenter, Ashley Greene, Melora Hardin, Rutina Wesley; Fashion Television's Mary Kitchen, and singer Suzie McNeil. Starkers! Corsets has been featured on a special episode of Rich Bride, Poor Bride , Season 5, Episode 77.
